We examine your eyes and listen to what you’re hoping for. For vision correction, that includes the measurements that determine whether a procedure is right for you.
We walk you through your options — what each involves, realistic outcomes, recovery, and risks. If something isn’t the right fit, we’ll tell you, and point you to what is.
You leave with a clear picture and no obligation. When you’re ready, we’ll plan the next step — on your timeline, never ours.

Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Your initial consultation is complimentary — an honest assessment of your eyes and your options, with no cost and no obligation to proceed. We’d rather you make a confident, informed decision than a rushed one.
Which consultation should I choose?
If you’re interested in reducing your dependence on glasses or contacts — laser vision correction, lens-based correction, or presbyopia — choose the vision consultation. If you’re interested in eyelid surgery, laser facial treatments, skin rejuvenation, or injectables, choose the aesthetic consultation. Interested in both? Pick either and let us know — we’ll cover both in one visit where we can.
What should I bring to a vision consultation?
Bring your Ontario health card, a list of any medications, and your current glasses or prescription if you have them. If you wear contact lenses, you’ll need to leave them out before your assessment — soft lenses for about one to two weeks, rigid lenses longer — so your cornea returns to its natural shape for accurate measurements. We’ll confirm the exact timing when you book.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to book a consultation with us. If you were referred by your optometrist or another physician, bring any notes they’ve shared — but it isn’t required to get started.
How long does a consultation take?
Plan for about an hour, though it varies. A vision correction assessment includes detailed eye measurements and imaging, so it may run a little longer. We never rush you out — you’ll have time for your questions.
What if I’m not a candidate for what I came in for?
You’ll still leave with a clear next step. UELC is part of U Vision Group, a connected family of eye and aesthetic specialists — so if laser correction isn’t right for your eyes, for example, we can talk through alternatives or coordinate care with the right specialist. There are no dead ends here.
